Dr. Matheus received her Medical degree at the Universidad Central De Venezuela-Jose Maria Vargas Medical School. Caracas, Venezuela. She completed her internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in Gastroenterology.

Dr. Matheus is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physicians, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the Florida Gastroenterology Association and the American Gastroenterological Association.
